DUCHESSE DE BERRY – Bordeaux

Soil:

The well-draining soils in this area are clay-limestone. Bordeaux region is well known for its mild climate along with the long hours of sunshine and heat in the ripening season. These local geological and geographic aspects guarantee the best conditions for grapes to mature perfectly.

 

Vinification:

The vinification takes place in the most modern cellars of the region where the grapes are not crushed but gently squeezed.

 

Grape Varieties:

80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.

 

Ageing:

In stainless steel vats during 6 months before bottling. Storage in temperature-controlled cuves.

 

Tasting Notes:

A beautiful ruby red wine with purple notes. An attractive fresh nose of red and black fruits with some depth and notes of spice. In the mouth this is an an enjoyable, fruity wine with rounded tannins and decent length. A wine appreciated for its harmony and great quality value.

 

Serving Tips:

Best served at 16/18° C you will enjoy it with a big thick fillet from the grill with baked potatoes. This is also a great wine for dishes of meat in sauce.
